Cregg Dalton has over a decade of widespread leadership expertise. He spent the last 11 years serving and protecting residents, businesses, and communities at the Citrus County Sheriff’s Office. In his many capacities in law enforcement - Patrol Deputy, School Resource Officer, Major Crimes Detective, Major Crimes Officer-In-Charge, and Operations Sergeant – Mr. Dalton focused on mentor, inspirational and effective leadership.
Mr. Dalton has a master’s degree in Business Administration from St. Leo University. He also completed the Administrative Leadership Course and the Executive Leadership Graduate Program at the University of Louisville.
Mr. Dalton is a proud veteran of the United States Navy.
Volunteering in the community is one of Mr. Dalton's greatest passions. He actively volunteers helping veterans and improving the lives of students, citizens, businesses, and communities. He has been an advocate, a volunteer, and a board member to many Citrus County organizations:
Mr. Dalton was elected as the 14th Citrus County Property Appraiser in November of 2020. Since being elected, he has strived to increase the services his office provides to the property owners of Citrus County and to all the consumers of property data from his agency’s website. Mr. Dalton was immediately nominated and selected to take on a leadership role for the Florida Association of Property Appraisers (FAPA) Association, as the Secretary. Mr. Dalton is a member of the Florida Chapter of International Association of Assessing Officers, as well as the International Association of Assessing Officers.
Mr. Dalton resides in Inverness with his wife, Nancy. Their son, Austin, is an Army veteran and is currently attending the Commercial Diving Technologies Institute. Their daughter, Savannah, is a student at Florida State University with the aspirations of becoming a physician’s assistant.
