Cregg Dalton has been committed to serving Citrus County for over a decade. He was elected as the 14th Citrus County Property Appraiser in November of 2020. In an effort to fulfill his promises to Citrus County, he spends his days educating the public on every possible exemption allowed by law, providing fairness and consistency to all residential and commercial property owners, always being accessible to the taxpayers, continuously building and maintaining property appraisal partnerships across the county, the state, and the country, and exhibiting hands-on leadership to his employees.

In 2021, Mr. Dalton obtained one of the highest designations in Florida through the Florida Department of Revenue - the Certified Florida Appraiser designation. His prior education includes a bachelor’s degree and master’s degree from St. Leo University, and the Administrative Leadership Course and the Executive Leadership Graduate Program at the University of Louisville.

The members of the Florida Association of Property Appraisers (FAPA) voted Mr. Dalton into the position of president in October of 2022.  Mr. Dalton is also a member of the Florida Chapter of International Association of Assessing Officers, the International Association of Assessing Officers, and the Property Appraisers Association of Florida.

As a proud United States Navy veteran, Mr. Dalton volunteers his time to support our brave and honorable military veterans. He is an advocate for improving the lives of students, citizens, businesses, and communities. He has been a volunteer, an activist, and a board member to many Citrus County organizations, both past and present:

  • Citrus County Veterans Foundation – Board Member
  • Key Training Center – Board Member
  • Men Building Men and Women Building Women Mentoring Program - Founder/Director
  • Citrus County United Way - Board of Directors

Mr. Dalton resides in Inverness with his wife, Nancy. Their son, Austin, is an Army veteran and is currently a commercial diver in Pensacola, Florida. Their daughter, Savannah, is a student at Florida State University in Tallahassee with the aspirations of becoming a physician’s assistant.
